I used to always launch certain attacks from specific guards, for instance: an Oberhau from Vom Tag and an Unterstich from Pflug. While these are the easiest guards from which to launch those particular attacks, limiting myself to those was not good. It was a bit obvious.
To add more options and to be less predictable, practice attacking from any guard in which you may find yourself during a fight.
