In Veliky Novgorod, the ancient Derevyanitsky Monastery is being destroyed. During the Great Patriotic War, it was severely destroyed, and in 1965 it was partially restored. In Soviet times, there were factory warehouses here. Today, part of the Derevyanitsky Monastery is a hospital for drug addicts and alcoholics.
According to the Federal Property Management Agency, the churches and the bell tower of the monastery were offered to the Novgorod Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Novgorod Museum-Reserve. But no one took it. The main problem is in the drug dispensary. The ROC claims the entire monastery with all its buildings. But there is nowhere to put the medical facility.
Three domes have already fallen from the main cathedral of the Derevyanitsky Monastery. The destruction continues.
