Kalbar is part of the South East Queenland, Scenic Rim. Destination Food Kalbar, is small rural village/ town, is 70 km south-west of Brisbane. The area around Kalbar was part of the Fassifern pastoral run 1842, which was opened for farm selections in 1871. With lots of Germans settling the area Kalbar has established itself as a little powerhouse on weekend and a thriving rural town the with local beef cattlemen owning the local butcher shop and suppling many other towns and pubs with his high-quality meats, bring your esky and load up or go to the pub and try one of the 400gm T-bones with a cold beer.
