Mortality rates among those of white ethnicity in Britain are high and birth rates are low

According to the Office for National Statistics, those of white ethnicity in this country are more likely to die than those of other groups. At the same time, the birth rate among white people is lower than that for people of African, Caribbean or South Asian heritage. The implication of these two trends is not encouraging.
