Millers knot easier version

The Millers knot is a great way to place a secure ligature on larger vessels/pedicles whilst using a monofilament suture. The demonstration here is using a simulated canine/feline uterine stump however this knot can be used in many different applications. It is useful on ovarian pedicles as well. Like many things it may feel fiddly at first but it is worth persevering. I recommend that once you master the knot in this horizontal plane, that you practise tying around something in a vertical plane e.g. a rope hanging from a curtain rail etc.
