@Magdakonno Bom Dia 🇵🇹🍀 At the end of June, while in Portugal, I witnessed a beautiful jubilee of Gilberto Filipe in a round arena, where men display extraordinary bravery by standing before the symbol of strength and power—a bull. 🐂 Gilberto has been developing his equestrian skills here for 20 years. 🤩💪 I love animals, and bullfighting is not my favorite pastime, but I eat meat and often wear leather shoes, and I try not to be a hypocrite. I don’t want to discuss the topic of bullfighting, its value, and dilemmas here. However, in Portugal, this spectacle is definitely different from what I have seen in other countries. 🇵🇹🫶 Here, the bull has greater chances, often threatening the life and health of people who, without any assistance, stand face to face with it on their own feet and end up on its horns, being tossed into the air. It’s a powerful experience. 🫣 The bull leaves the arena whole and healthy on its own legs, while sometimes the ambulance takes the brave participants to the hospital. 🏥 The part of the show with the rider, on the other hand, is a display of the highest equestrian art. 🤩🎠 At the end of the reel, you can see a fragment of Gilberto riding without a bridle. I am impressed by the incredible cooperation between the horse and the rider. 🥰 And perhaps some of you are strongly opposed to this tradition, but it is part of this culture, and that is a fact. The fact is that these beautiful horses and equestrian art would not have survived to our times without bullfighting, as breeding used to be directed towards it. There was no Working Equitation or other sports disciplines in the past. The horse was used for fieldwork, in wars, and for shows or bullfighting, which means broadly understood entertainment. 🇵🇹🎠🐂 So admire Morante and Gilberto in the sport, where they took first place 🥇 during the International WE Competition with qualification for the European Championships, and at the same time first place in the Consegrados class. Last weekend they were first again. 🏆🙌 Well, this horse has amazing potential, and Gilberto knows how to develop it. 💪🎠🇵🇹😍 It’s an art, isn’t it?✍️
