Red Sprites and Airglow over West Texas

On the night of May 13th, 2020, a line of storms over 100 miles away generated a fantastic display in the upper atmosphere, seen here in this 45-minute timelapse. Airglow is a common emission from air molecules near the edge of space, which glow due to reactions from solar energy and emit green, red, and yellow colors.
