Making a Viking Tool Chest pt1

This weeks Episode is making a viking style tool chest, Part 1 the chest. This is made in same construction style as many historical finds from the 9th -12th century, this is not intended to be an exact replica. I am making the chest as a prototype to try out the construction and test the locks and hardware for a oak replica of the mastermyr chest that i hope to make in a few months time. Coming soon will be part 2 - Forging and fitting the hinges and lock. Material :- -Live edge Cedar boards ( i know its not native to northern europe befor you start your bitching, but it what i had to hand) Finish:- Linseed Oil Hope you find it interesting, if you have any ideas for future videos let me know in the comments below. If you don’t like it I suggest you bring a pan of water to a rolling boil and sticking your head in it. :-)
