Extreme ESQUIRE Coordination & Speed | Opening Suite
Many thanks to the excellent @NostalgiaCassetteCity for the amazing title suggestion!! Really working to keep the speed coordinated and under control here. I am finding new subdivisions in the opening of WAWDWCBD and I want to keep exploring them and not have them get blurred out by playing them too fast. Thank You, Guitar also right on the line today. Gotta take a minute and get back on track wiht that one. Beating Wings getting more out there by the day. TBH I felt a little blah today, but I think it is important to still get my hands on the instrument. Even if I am not moving forward, I am at least not moving backward!!
I know I always list the 4G℞E Amp in the list of gear used in these recordings, but I thought I would mention that it is something I designed and built to provide a wide range of distortions and tones. More info can be found here (also if you’d like to buy one!):
A word on content: here I am making an attempt at playing What Are We Doing What Could Be Done; Thank You, Guitar; and Beating Wings of the Hawk Pinned to the Grill of an I-8O Semi as a unified set. I’ve decided on an initial tempo of quarter equals 160 for WAWDWCBD and quarter equals 300 for Thank You, Guitar. Maybe this can be a way I can feel more comfortable in third piece I am hoping will reveal more of itself the more I keep playing it.
I’m playing the 9-String Esquire through a 9V adapter powered 4G℞E Amp into the Ampeg 810 as usual. Left channel audio is coming from the 810 close-mic’d with the Marantz PMD 222 and the right channel audio is the output of the 4G℞E Amp into a JDI direct box into a hardware limiter into the camera.
Thank you so much for accompanying me on my daily practice for 11/29/2023.
Sending many positive vibes,
