IDF uses trebuchet to hurl fireballs at Lebanon

Footage has emerged on social media appearing to show Israeli troops using a trebuchet to launch fireballs over the border with Lebanon, in order to start fires on the other side. It’s thought the troops were starting fires in an attempt to clear brush and thick vegetation, in order to stop potential combatants hiding. According to Israeli state broadcaster KAN News, the IDF responded to the footage, claiming that it was ‘a local initiative and not a tool that is widely used,’ and that the dense growth on the other side presents a ‘challenge to the IDF forces deployed in defense.’
