Here’s the long awaited update that some of you have asked for!
Not much has changed since the last update in March, I basically went through two different aquascapes with this one focusing on less rock work to allow more water flow between the crevices to pickup the debris. This also allows me to catch holding females when the time comes to incubate and raise the fry.
The Tropheus are consistently spawning now with batches of 9-15 fry every month with much more to follow as the younger females mature.
My Tropheus group consists of three different colonies in order to maximize the diversity along with the spread of aggression as much as possible.
I feed a mix of NLS Cichlid and Algaemax pellets, along with Xtreme Aquatics Cichlid pellets and Omega One Algae pellets wafers.
I do a 70%-80% water change every month, running no carbon with only ceramic rings and two large thick sponges in my Aquatop CF500 that I maintain once a month as well.
