Introduction to Psytrance: Full On

Full On is the most popular subgenre of Psytrance of the last decade. A high energy, fast paced style Full On emerged in 2000-2001 and remains as popular as back then. Full On’s most notable characteristic the rolling bassline became a standard for Psytrance for better or worse. Full On offers a wide variety of moods like morning happiness to intense dark stompers. Most Full On tracks are in the 140-148 bpm range. There are usually 3 bass notes between each kick which create the rolling bassline. Most Full On are highly melodic, but the melodies have a more clubby feeling than those of Goa Trance and usually there’s a climax at the end of the track.
