The Sofaer building in Yangon - springing back to life

The Sofaer building in Yangon was once the most prestigious building and location in the whole of South East Asia. It was built in 1906 by a Jewish businessman from Baghdad called Isaac Sofaer. The once grand and opulent building has been left to decay and is today largely derelict. However, since Myanmar began opening up to the outside world, new businesses have renovated parts of the building and restored it (at least partially) to its former glory.
