Umi Garrett, 12 years old, had a solo concert on Nov 18th, 2012 at the Northwood Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas. Concert program: Sonata in d minor, No.2 - Beethoven Etudes No.3 in E Major & No.4 in c-sharp minor & No.5 in G-flat Major - Chopin Three Preludes - Gershwin Ballade No.2 in F Major, - Chopin Nocturnes . in c-sharp minor & in c minor - Chopin Sonata in A Major, K331 “Alla Turka“ - Mozart Scherzo No.2 in b minor, - Chopin In May 2009, 8-year-old Umi Garrett appeared on NBC’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show as her first public broadcast performance. Since then, she has been receiving requests to perform worldwide and appearing regularly with symphony orchestras in the US and around the world. Umi also often challenges herself in the international competitions regularly. Now at the age 12, Umi’s most recent accomplishments in 2012 include winning the first prizes at The 13th Osaka International Music Competition in Japan
