AMG V8 Engine M156

Mercedes-Benz M156 is the first independent (not modified on the basis of the existing) atmospheric petrol V8 engine, fully developed by the division Mercedes-AMG in 2006. The model index is 6.3 (in honor of the first 8-cylinder engine M100 with a working volume of 6.3 liters). Used on cars E-, ML-, R-, C-, CL-, CLK-, CLS-, S- and SL-classes. Specifically for the car Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG engine has received multiple modifications, as a result of which produced a power of 420 kW (571 hp). The updated version received its own code M159. In 2010, it was replaced by a new engine M157.
