Formerly half of the Animal Chuki duo, Daniel Valle-Riestra has now established himself with his solo project QOQEQA. Hailing from Peru, Valle-Riestra successfully condenses this profound and mysterious track from his retreats into the jungle, dripping with the visions and revelations of a psychedelic experience. The composition is a dance between light and darkness, as playful elements such as wood claves flit through the stereo field, contrasting with the melancholic song of the violins. Under these and the tensed-skin drums we hear the voices of an isolated Amazonian tribe, joyful at the reencounter with family members they believed dead.
