Taistojen Tiellä - Finnish Communist/Leftist song [Sanat] + [English translation]

The song was originally composed by Hannes Konno as a march for the (white) civil guard with the name “Jää hyvästi Isänmaa“ (Farewell Fatherland) in the 1920s. But then a certain communist Ludvig Kosonen wrote it as a red song. The song in its current form was written by Knut Kangas in 1929. The song was almost completely forgotten in the late 1930s and during the war as communism was heavily suppressed in Finland during that time. But it saw a resurgence some time after the war and remains one of the (if not THE) most popular working class songs in Finland. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Composer: Hannes Konno Text: Knut Kangas Performed by KOM-teatteri ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Union of Marchers and Fans:
