Rice U. physicists laser cool neutral plasma

Rice University physicists have created the world’s first laser-cooled neutral plasma. The research, which appears in the Jan. 5 issue of Science, opens a frontier where experimental atomic and plasma physicists can coax matter to behave in bizarre new ways.
