GFX100 II : The Making of the short film "Gemma" - Christina Ienna/ FUJIFILM

“GEMMA” is a short film that showcases the FUJIFILM GFX100 II medium format camera. Starring Talia Rockland as Gemma, Director and Cinematographer Christina Ienna shot the film in a day and half at Sorry Studios in Toronto, Canada with production company WILIM Media House. The comically narrated story follows Gemma, a tenacious young woman trying out an exuberant number of activities and hobbies in her quest to find a special talent to call her own. Gemma represents the unspoken pressures and expectations that many of us put on ourselves when we are developing new skills. We often forget there is no rule that you need to be great at a hobby, only that you find joy in the activity you choose. The GFX100 II was put through a multitude of set-ups on set, shifting from dana dolly to tripod to overhead rigging to Steadicam. Christina took advantage of the 102MP sensor with 14 plus stops of dynamic range (4:2:2 10-bit) and used various frame rates (8K/24P, 4K/60P, 1080/120P) in different lighting sc
