The 1995 season was the last season before the infamous CART/IRL split that would fragment the fanbase and pave the way for NASCAR to take center stage. Several drivers burst on the scene, with Andre Ribeiro, Scott Pruett, Robby Gordon, and Gil de Ferran winning their first races. However, it was the upstart Team Green and Jacques Villeneuve who would score the final championship before the split.
