Neil Young Archives Volume 3 (1976-1987) is here! The 17 CD (199 tracks!), 5 Blu-ray (11 films!) deluxe box set hit shelves September 6th with an 176-page book of chronologically arranged archival photos, press articles, ephemera, and manuscripts; a filing cabinet poster; and a foldout timeline of the period. A 17-disc CD-only set, with a 36 page book of credits and foldout poster, is also available. Included in those 17 CDs are 15 previously unreleased songs, 109 unreleased versions (including 26 original versions — the first time the song was recorded), and the unreleased albums Oceanside/Countryside, Road of Plenty, and Johnny’s Island. The films in the deluxe set are the newly assembled archival concert films Across The Water (NYCH 1976), Boarding House (solo 1978) and Catalyst (NYCH 1984); Trans, a new animated film by Micah Nelson; and fan favorites Rust Never Sleeps, Muddy Track, and Human Highway, among others. We also released Neil Young Archives Vol. III “Takes“, a double LP of some of Neil’s favorite cuts from the box!
