Giovanni Legrenzi (1626-1690) was a middle Baroque composer of Italy who was influential in the development of the later Baroque idiom. His Op.2 sonatas are forward-looking sonatas that point towards the later Italian trio sonatas. Even though relatively short, they show elements of the later Baroque style.
