Dimitri Bashkirov Masterclass for Piano with Varvara Nepomnyashchaya

Legendary pianist Dimitri Bashkirov gave a master class from April 16th to 20th, 2012 in Berlin. Varvara Nepomnyashchaya, participant of Bashkirov’s master class worked with Bashkirov on Chopin’s Scherzo N°4 in E major, Op. 54. The master class was conducted in Russian and German but Bashkirov’s body language is so expressive that you don’t really need to know either to understand what he wants to convey. The Studio Niculescu arranged the master class in cooperation with the C. Bechstein Pianofortefabrik AG. More than 20 young pianists applied. Varvara Nepomnyashchaya and eight other participants of the master class performed a closing concert on April 20th at stilwerk Berlin as part of C. Bechstein’s Piano Concert Series 2012.
