Macau’s Cotai: A city within a city

In 2002, the Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) government ended a 40-year gaming monopoly held by Stanley Ho’s STDM (Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau) and granted gaming concessions and later, subconcessions to a total of six operators. Today, on just 5.9 sq km of land, 4 gaming operators (soon to be 6) built mega-hotels, casinos and entertainment venues, as featured in this video.
