A group of secondary-school students from China’s Beijing Bayi School has participated in developing and payload design of a satellite that was launched in north China’s Shanxi Province on Wednesday.
China launched a pair of high-resolution remote sensing satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center at 11:23 Beijing time. The rocket also carried the low-orbit satellite, whose payload was designed by 40 students from Beijing Bayi School under expert guidance.
“The small satellite has four payloads. The first payload is to realize communication and transmission of voices, the second is to carry out transmission of audio data, and the third is to film the earth amid remote sensing and to transmit data to the ground,“ said Zhang Xiang, deputy director of the micro/nano satellite center of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, where the 40 students completed design of the payloads.
