Swimming crab (Macropipus holsatus) Краб плавунец

This crab is very common for the Black Sea, it lives on sandy bottom. Carapace width is up to 40 mm. The last segment of hind pairs of legs is flattened. Crab uses them as paddles for swimming and shovels for burying itself in the sand. Встречается на песчаном дне повсеместно. Ширина панциря до 40 мм. Последние членики задней пары ног уплощены и служат крабу веслами для плавания и лопатками для зарывания в песок.
