China’s Great Wall vandalised by workers trying to create a shortcut

Local police detained two workers, who caused “irreversible damage” by using an excavator to widen an existing gap and create a shortcut, according to the Youyu County Public Security Bureau. The damaged section of the wall is part of the Ming Great Wall, one of the most visited tourist destinations in China.
