Nuorvala: Study in Pajara, mode 2322223222, in 3,5,7-primespace in Tonescape

Study in Pajara, by Juhani Nuorvala. This is a study in pajara temperament. The scale used is pajara[10]: 2232222322, the “symmetric diatonic“ as described in Paul Erlich’s “Tuning, Tonality, and Twenty-Two Tone Temperament“ (), tuned in 22edo. This performance was realized in Tonescape by Joseph Monzo, October 2021. The composer’s score presents the scale first, in the “octave“ from D4 to D5, then the composition. In this rendition the lower staff was transposed one “octave“ lower for clearer presentation, and the phrasing is Monzo’s. This version is latticed in 3,5,7-primespace, with the origin of the scale and lattice changed to have “G“ 390 Hz as the tonic, better reflecting the harmonic structure of the piece. The composition starts at 0:10. The first two measures have a repeat sign in the score and thus are not counted in my measure count here.
