Night regatta “Ilovlya-Don“. Volgograd region August 19-20, 2023

This event was held for the purpose of development, propaganda, popularization of sports events and water tourism, exchange tourist experience, improving sportsmanship. Objectives of the event: - meeting, getting to know fellow tourists - popularization of water tourism - promotion of an active lifestyle - identifying the strongest teams - expansion of consciousness - overcoming personal boundaries. These competitions are not official amateur local regional level and do not have registration in top sports organizations. 31 teams consisting of 59 people and 1 dog took to the start. Geography of participants: Volgograd, Volzhsky, Astrakhan, Volgodonsk, Rostov-on-Don, Aksai, Goryachiy Klyuch, Novocherkask, Murmansk, Maykop and BARCELONA!!! The average age of participants is 36 years. The youngest is 11 years old, the oldest is 60 years old. Another participant started at 14 years old and finished at 15 years old. Distance LITE. Length 22.5 km. The river in this section has an atypical width and long straight sections, periodically returning to its usual size with sharp bends in the channel, but their length is no more than 1 km. 1.5 km after the start there will be the first fallen tree. The next fallen tree is 2 km before the finish. 3 km before the finish, Ilovlya returns to its usual size. At about the 7th km, the river is abundantly overgrown with reeds along the bank; in some places the reeds begin to block the river. By the 10th km the river turns into labyrinths of reeds. Look for passages. In the area of the Yutaevka tract there is the highest density of reeds, then it becomes more spacious. Start at 22:22. Distance HARD. Length 53.5 km. Start from the village of Aleksandrovka. According to local residents, they used to regularly see kayakers on this section of the river, but no one has been walking along this route for 5 years. And the rubble confirms this. There are many of them, they are difficult to pass and have no traces of sawing. 7 epic rubbles. And a bunch of individual fallen trees with passages made. Sandy shallows in places. Sometimes an underwater snag suddenly appears in the middle of the river. The blockages last exactly up to 21.5 km from the start, until the 7th epic blockage (before Alikovka), then freedom, the current on the river in some places increases greatly, the river straightens, becomes beautiful and gradually begins to expand up to 50 meters.
