Irish reunification is inevitable. Ireland’s demographics and politics over the past few decades, as well as those of its closest neighbor, the United Kingdom in the wake of Brexit, are signaling a high likelihood of Northern Ireland reverting to its Celtic Catholic roots, and leaving its union with Britain to reunite with the Republic of Ireland. And despite some claims suggesting this is also signaling a possible break up or collapse of the UK, it would appear that Northern Ireland leaving, and becoming united with the Republic is actually in Britain’s best interest. Might we soon see the beginning of a new era within the British Isles?
