Know all about World Population Day, celebrated on 11 July each year.
The day 11th July was selected for this cause, due to the world population got to mark of 5 billion on this day, 11 July 1987. The growing trajectory of population caused much interest in people.
The current growing World population is predicted to grow to 8.6 billion in 2030, 9.8 billion in 2050 and nearly 11.2 billion around 2100.
Increased Population is one of the major cause of increased pollution, poverty, income inequalities, social issues. Also it is an indication of many ills of society, such as poor medical facilities, lack of access to hygienic conditions, high child mortality rate, etc.
To achieve sustainable development and betterment of all of the mankind, it is essential to spread awareness and help to build better tomorrow.
