Blacksite Gel Ball Gameplay

If you’re looking for a quick review of the field, it’s very good. It makes use of the space well, has been designed well; both in terms of gameplay and aesthetics. They run good game modes smoothly. You should go check it out for sure. It’s very convenient. Rock-up, play, chat in the parking lot for an hour, go home. One of the first people I talked to off the field was a dude from Donnybrook. I’d started a conversation with him because he was wearing a speedqb patch, which I had watched a few videos on at the time (early 2018). Turns out that he’d been super into Speedqb and SYG for a number of years at that point, since before gel ball had been brought into AUS. We spent a lot of time after games watching SYG montages and frothing the indoor CQB venues that they got to play at. We eventually got to play at Urban Gel Ball when they opened up which allowed us to experience a glimpse of what those videos had portrayed. It’s a kinda cool experience when you become a regular at a field, you recognise a lot of the faces there, know the best routes and you can develop some rivalries with the other regulars. Since then I don’t really feel like I have been able to have that same experience. I played fairly frequently at Spec Ops Paintball, which was a really fun Friday Night ritual. But it wasn’t the same. I think Blacksite might give me that same experience. It’s got a really good culture growing and I hope that I can contribute to that, bring back some of the more military aspects of early Speedqb. Looking forward to playing more games there!
