The A-50 AWACS shoot down and what it means for Russia

I believe between 3-7 Russian A-50 AWACS planes remain in service. This is a major problem because with the loss of two planes, Russia may have trouble continuing to maintain 24 hour coverage and continue maintenance cycles.
