This Rotterdam-based collective, led by keyboardist Brenn Luiten, started with three members. Inspired by jazz from the UK, hiphop and electronic music, Luiten started to write sketches for his own compositions.

Brenn himself describes the collective as “UK influenced jazz music““, with acts such as Alfa Mist and Robert Glasper as inspiration. The band recently made an impression at the North Sea Jazz Festival; they have previously been seen at BIRDFEST, Tweetakt Festival and Motel Mozaique. This year they released their EP “Brintex Collective”.
Together with the band, he worked them out and the project grew bigger. Nowadays, five or six musicians play Luiten’s work.
For this Vrije Geluiden ‘Into the Great Wide Open’ session the Brintex Collective performed in the Fortuna Vlieland brewery: the place of craft beer, sparkling water and great music.
