Performance - 2 July 2011 Baba Sissoko is the grandson of famous Malian griot Djeli Baba Sissoko. Unquestionable master of the tama, Baba Sissoko also plays the n’goni, kamalen’goni, balafon, and calabash... and sings. The inheritor of a dynasty of Malian griots whose traditional duty is to reconcile hearts and minds, Baba Sissoko was the first musician to introduce the sound of the tama to the modern-day music of Mali.
