Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh (Shiva) are the Trinity, also called the Trimurti. The Supreme Spirit or Universal Truth, called Brahman, is represented in three forms, each corresponding to one cosmic function: Brahma (The Creator), Vishnu (The Preserver) and Mahesh (Shiva) (The Transformer/Destroyer).
