From 1942 to 1943, the United States armed forces were comitted in a defensive campaign against the Japanese forces. Most of the events that occurred during this part of the war took place around the Aleutian Islands, part of the Territory of Alaska. Facing harsh weather, US pilots and soldiers were preparing for an eventual Japanese landing on the Northern part of the American continent.
