Blackfoot In For The Kill with Lyrics in Description
Track 9 from their seventh album “Vertical Smiles” released in 1984 copyright Atco Records. It was the second and last album to feature former Uriah Heep member Ken Hensley on keyboards and the first without founding member and lead guitarist Charlie Hargrett, who left during the recording sessions over disagreements with the other band members and their management. The band continued to develop a more “metal“ sound and style on this album, moving further away from their classic Southern rock roots. The album received mostly unfavorable reviews. Recorded from CD. Written by Ken Hensley, Rickey Medlocke & Jakson Spires and produced by Al Nalli & Eddy Offord. Featuring:
Rickey Medlocke – Lead vocals, lead & rhythm guitars, guitar synthesizer & background vocals
Ken Hensley – Keyboards & background vocals

Sherri Jarell - Background vocals
I’ve been standin’ on the edge a little too long, waiting for the door to be opened
Hanging on the brink, biding my time, wondering if the spell would be broken
Seen a million words of wisdom lost in the wind
Heard the voices of the desperate and the dreamers
And I knew that any moment, they’d be callin’ my name
To see if I was ready for the game
So I’m movin’ movin’ in for the kill
Got a date with a man, who says he’ll watch me fall
Gotta take this chance, I’m movin’ in for the kill
This time I’m gonna have it all
I’m (movin’ in) and I won’t make no mistakes
(For the kill) I’m gonna see what I can take
(Movin’ in) now that my time’s come around
(For the kill) I’m goin’ up and I’m never goin’ down
The title’s in my pocket, the idea’s in my head, I’m lookin’ for a little inspiration
It isn’t just the money that gets me outta bed, I got to have a little motivation
I ain’t got no grand illusions, I’m better than the rest
There’s a fire in my heart that makes me wanna be the best
My finger’s on the trigger, know what I wanna be
And everything is ready as far as I can see
I’m movin’, movin’ in for the kill
Got a date with a man who says he’ll watch me fall
Gotta take this chance, I’m movin’ in for the kill
This time I’m gonna have it all
I’m (movin’ in) and I won’t make no mistakes
(For the kill) I’m gonna see what I can take
(Movin’ in) now that my chance’s come around
(For the kill) I’m goin’ up and if I’m
(Movin’ in) and I won’t make no mistakes
(For the kill) I’m gonna see what I can take
(Movin’ in) now that my time’s come around
(For the kill) I’m goin’ up and I’m never goin’ down, oh, yeah
(Movin’ in for the kill)
(Movin’ in for the kill) I’m movin in’
(Movin’ in for the kill) yeah, for the kill
(Movin’ in for the kill) this time I’m gonna have it all
(Movin’ in for the kill) I’m movin’ in
(Movin’ in for the kill) I’m movin’, movin’ movin’ movin’
