He is a Chief of the Siksika (Blackfoot) First Nation. Chief Crowfoot’s parents, Istowun-eh’pata (Packs a Knife) and Axkahp-say-pi (Attacked Towards Home), descended from the Kainai (Blood) People. His adopted son, was Chief Pindmaker. Chief Crowfoot was a great warrior and leader, who fought in as many, as nineteen battles and sustained many injuries, but, he always tried to obtain peace, instead of warfare.
