Janoska Ensemble - Rumba For Amadeus

From the new album „Janoska Style“ – Order now: Our children all have musical names – this piece is dedicated to my (Frantisek Janoska) oldest son, Amadeus, but it also relates, of course, to the music of the great Amadeus. Frantisek has taken the opening bars of Mozart’s Keyboard Concerto no. 20 in D minor as the main theme of his rumba. It is a thrilling piece with its Latin American rhythms and offers ample opportunity for improvisation – in my own case with my voice and violin, which I play using a very special performance technique similar to that associated with a rhythm guitar. Unsere Kinder haben musikalische Namen – dieses Stück ist meinem (Frantisek Janoska) ersten Sohn Amadeus gewidmet, aber es bezieht natürlich Musik des großen Amadeus ein. Frantisek hat dafür die ersten Takte von Mozarts Klavierkonzert Nr. 20 d-Moll zum Hauptthema seiner Rumba gemacht. Ein mitreißendes Stück mit seinem lateinamerikanischen Rhythmus und viel Platz für Improvisationen, in meinem Fall mit Stimme und Geige, die ich hier mit einer speziellen Spieltechnik ähnlich wie eine Rhythmusgitarre schlage.
