Christina Gansch performing “Ach Neige, Du Schmerzenreiche“ from Robert Schumann’s “Szenen aus Goethes Faust“ during the 2021 Cardiff Singer Of The World Final.
The Austrian soprano made her international operatic debut in Montpellier as Amore (Orfeo et Euridice – 2013), followed by Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Theater an der Wien, and was part of the Hamburgische Staatsoper for three years (2014-2017). She has appeared on some of the world’s greatest Opera stages, including La Scala as Najade (Ariadne auf Naxos), Bayerische Staatsoper as Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Glyndebourne Festival Opera as Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande), Opéra National de Paris as Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Berliner Staatsoper as Waldvogel (Siegfried), Opéra national de Lorraine as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and the Salzburg Festival as Servillia (La Clemenza di Tito) and Fünfte Magd (Elektra).
