120318 FM 1488 FATAL CRASH

Just after 9 am a 2003 BMW was traveling westbound on in the 10600 block of FM 1488 at Cedar Ridge in form of the Lake Windcrest Subdivision. The BMW crossed the center turn lane and entered the eastbound lane striking a 2015 Tahoe head-on. The impact ripped the left wheel of the Tahoe off causing it to spin. out of control. A 2003 Escalade also eastbound slammed into the rear of the Tahoe. The BMW continued westbound also without a left wheel. A Magnolia Fire Crew driving down FM 1488 happened up on the crash seconds later. The male in the BMW was in critical condition and passed away a short time later at Memorial Hermann in the Woodlands. The driver of the Tahoe was transported with minor injuries. The driver of the Escalade was not injured. FM 1488 lanes were closed until 12:30 p.m. when the investigation was completed
