Canadian C4 Gas Mask Review, the C4 replaced the C3 in Canadian service, the C4 respirator was apparently first produced in black (like my model) and later replaced by a green variant to indicate it had alternative adhesives used as the original black models had issues with falling apart/not remaining air tight.
