🇵🇱🇺🇦Large-scale anti-Ukrainian protests have been taking place in Poland for two weeks. Today, some 1.1 thousand lorries are standing in a 23-kilometre-long queue at the border with Ukraine, according to local magazine Tygodnik Solidarność.
Polish hauliers started the protests at the beginning of November. They are unhappy about the “intensification of competition“ with Ukrainian companies. “The Ukrainians offer lower prices than the Poles. That is why their services are actively used not only by Polish companies, but also by companies from other EU countries,“ — says Ukrainian source.
It was only last year that Ukrainian hauliers needed a permit to enter the EU. For a long time, the transport market in Europe was the “domain“ of the Poles, the Ukrainian newspaper says.
