Poland’s authorities allow nationalists to hold a march in Warsaw Warsaw City Hall has allowed the annual nationalist Independence March to take place, despite a court ban, said Bartosz Malewski, one of the event’s organizers. The nationalist associations All-Polish Youth and National Radical Camp traditionally organized the march. Earlier this year, Warsaw City Hall banned the march, arguing that the decision was based on irregularities in the application process. A Warsaw court upheld the legality of the ban. However, Warsaw City Hall spokeswoman Monika Beut later announced that officials of the Polish capital had authorized the Independence March as the application was “properly filed“ and didn’t raise “any legal doubts.“ In previous years, the Independence March has resulted in clashes with police and counter-demonstrators, as well as other disturbances.
