The DRM20 Project - Dauphin’s Legacy of Rail History - Jack Shmon and Sleeping Car Porters

This is the first of hopefully many videos, in this series (DRM20 Project), to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Dauphin Rail Museum by creating a digital archive of people’s stories and experiences associated with CN Rail. The focus is primarily around individuals that worked (or had family members who worked) for CN in and around the Dauphin area but will also branch out to experiences within both Manitoba and Canada. Given the importance of rail to building, not only Dauphin, but Canada as a whole, the Dauphin Rail Museum feels that these stories need to be told and recorded for future generations. On 3/1/21, Jack Shmon, a long time Dauphin Rail Museum Board Member and employee of CN Rail for 37 years spoke about his experiences with the sleeping car porters.
