Black Friday shoppers trample over each other and fights break out as people pile into Asda in London in a desperate attempt to grab bargain
A north-west London branch of the supermarket chain Asda witnessed scenes of chaos this morning as the Black Friday sales kicked off.
Black Friday is a day of discount shopping which originates in the US and is held every year after Thanksgiving.
In the US it is widely regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.
Shoppers queued outside supermarkets across the UK in the early hours of Friday morning, eager to snap up bargains
Reports of violence emerged from some shops in the UK, at least two people have been arrested, with police officers being forced to close some shops to restore order.
A number of shops opened at midnight boasting major discounts on a range of products.
However shoppers complained the hysteria led to scenes of carnage as people rushed to get the best deals.
