BERKY Triton 550 Amphi - the amphibious aquatic weed harvester clearing ponds in Sri Lanka

The BERKY TRITON 550 Amphi, also known as Berky Type 6925 Weed Harvester is a unique machine. The compact dimension and the track system allow for moving the machine into the water without a crane. No additional assembly is needed. This allows for dry docking and for frequent location changes. The machines shown in the video are used by the Irrigation Department of Sri Lanka for cleaning the water retention ponds all over Sri Lanka. There are thousands of ponds that are used as part of the Irrigation system of the Island Nation. The ponds suffer from water hyacinth. Which reduces the water quality by excessive shading. Additionally the amount of fish reduces, the usability for local people reduces and siltation starts. Reduced aquatic weeds ensure that the siltation of the ponds is reduced, which avoids expensive dredging efforts and ensures that the ancient water ponds can be used to combat the modern impact of climate change.
