Jaime Munguia vs Sergiy Derevyanchenko DEFEATED 100% | Full Fight Highlights | Best Punches
✅ I propose to recap the best moments of this fight and see my review of this confrontation. А round-by-round analysis.
Jaime Munguia (42-0, 33 KO) and Sergiy Derevyanchenko (14-5, 10 KO) put on a thrilling fight, with enough action and dramatics to satisfy just about anybody. Perhaps the most surprising thing about this fight was how Derevyanchenko was largely able to push the pace and use angles that really gave Mexican boxing star fits throughout the fight.
Heading into the twelfth round, Jaime Munguia was down a point on two scorecards. At best, he could have scored a majority draw had he won the last round on those cards. But Munguia made some major magic happen by dropping “The Technician“ Derevyanchenko with a devastating body shot, and thus, snook away with a unanimous decision with scores of 115-112and 114-113 twice.
After subpar victories in 2022, the still-developing Munguia needed to score a statement win in order for his callouts against the likes of Jermall Charlo, Gennadiy Golovkin, and others to carry some serious weight.
As for Derevyanchenko, the well-seasoned, three-time title challenger dropped to 2-5 in his last seven fights dating back to 2018.
The 37-year-old Derevyanchenko’s other losses have come to a group of opponents featuring Daniel Jacobs, Golovkin, Charlo, and Carlos Adames.
