기억을 걷다 (Walk With You) for Days and Years

I’m in love with Onew’s album, its still a daily listen for me. I don’t remember how this mashup started but it came together with three songs. I’m using Jonghyun’s 1000, a song he dedicated to his 1000 days as DJ of Blue Night. He may have been thinking of his Blue Night family for the lyrics but I feel like those lyrics could easily apply to the members as well. The grateful sentiment and a contemplation of time is thread through each of these songs and I really enjoyed hearing them together. Hopefully you do too. There is a line in Days and Years that says “니가 나를 지켜줬듯이 나도 지켜 줄게 널 앞으로도 영원히“ which translates to something like “Just like you protected me, I’ll protect you from now on, forever.“ While I was working on this part I was thinking about what it means to protect someone. Literally while this was on my mind @wordsbyjjong on Twitter posted a quote from Jonghyun “I think an ‘adult’ is someone who can protect the ones that they hope to protect by helping them do things that make them happy, and also being happy for themselves too.” (cr: thatcoolcatmeow) I wonder if the members were think of protection in this sense when they sing the lyrics. I intentionally left out the Days and Years chorus lyrics at the end of the video because Onew’s words at the end of the song are so sweet and I wanted to focus on them.
